Our Founders
Koen Mortelmans
After more than a decade – where I evolved from project engineer to senior operations manager – I decided to take the next step and start a company, fully dedicated to industrial safety. My expertise lies in functional safety in the process industry and machine safety.
I operate at the intersection of technology and leadership. Over the years, I’ve led multidisciplinary teams, built internal knowledge networks, and partnered with clients in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries to deliver sustainable safety solutions. Whether it’s conducting in-depth SIL analyses, improving existing safety systems, or offering strategic guidance on compliance and risk management, I combine technical depth with a hands-on, pragmatic mindset.
For me, safety is not a checklist — it’s a fundamental part of any reliable operation.
Niels Ongkowidjojo
With a passion for industrial safety and a keen eye for detail, Niels helps companies translate complex standards like IEC 61511, IEC 60079, ATEX, and the Machinery Directive into practical, actionable solutions. As a consultant and coach, his focus goes beyond technical compliance – he empowers teams to grow their own understanding and independence.
His strength? Bridging the “grey zones” between machine safety, explosion protection, and process safety – often the areas of highest risk and greatest opportunity.
